Before I got into motorcycling, I’ve always been fascinated with horse racing. Perhaps the sound produced by the horses’ hooves’ synchronized pounding on turf and the repetitive clopping sound on concrete had an oddly calming effect on me. I was 5 yrs old when my grandfather asked me: “little boy what career will you be pursuing when you grow up?” Translated into our native language: “Ika itu nanu ing karera ing kuanan mu?” . I proudly replied: “Karerang Kabayu!” 😂 Taken from the book “Bale Pinaud a diary of our childhood” 2023.
